Surround height

Choose the desired height of the fireplace surround.

Surround height

The height of the fireplace surround determines the fireplace’s overall appearance and proportions. Different surround heights allow it to complement the ceiling height, interior style and your individual preferences.

The configurator shows the surround heights available for each model. The available versions vary by model, so you can choose from solutions suitable for your fireplace.

Important information

For correct and safe operation, heated air must be able to escape continuously from inside the surround. For most versions, we therefore recommend leaving at least 30–40 cm of clear space between the top of the surround and the ceiling, allowing warm air to flow out freely. The exact arrangement must always follow the selected fireplace insert’s technical requirements and the surround design.

If you would like a floor-to-ceiling surround, please let us know at the start of the design process. With this arrangement, the open outlet above the surround cannot be used, so convection air must escape through ventilation openings in the front or sides of the fireplace.

A floor-to-ceiling fireplace also requires appropriate fire and heat protection insulation for the ceiling. This must be considered during the design process; these installations therefore always require individual technical design.

Benefits

  • The surround’s proportions can be adapted to the room.
  • A choice of heights helps the fireplace fit harmoniously into the interior.
  • A correctly designed surround supports safe, efficient operation over the long term.

Which should I choose?

  • Standard height – A clean, balanced appearance that suits most interiors.
  • Taller surround – A more elegant, prominent appearance, particularly in rooms with higher ceilings.

Colour

Choose the desired colour of the fireplace surround.

Colour

The colour of the surround defines the fireplace’s character and strongly influences how it fits into the interior. Our range includes timeless, premium finishes that complement both modern and traditional living spaces. The surrounds have a high-quality, heat-resistant coating designed to retain its attractive appearance over time.

White

A white surround gives the fireplace a bright, clean and elegant appearance. It is particularly suited to modern, Scandinavian and minimalist interiors, where the fireplace becomes a restrained yet defining focal point. The light surface makes the room feel more spacious and combines easily with different finishes, furniture and decorative elements.

Light grey

Light grey is a timeless, versatile choice that works with most interior styles. Its neutral shade combines particularly well with natural wood, stone and metal surfaces, creating a modern, elegant overall effect.

Anthracite

An anthracite surround gives the fireplace an elegant, distinctive appearance and highlights its modern lines. This deep, dark shade is particularly suited to contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors, while also complementing natural wood and stone finishes. It is a timeless choice for anyone who wants the fireplace to be a defining, premium feature of the room.

Important information

The configurator uses digital colour representations, which may differ slightly from the actual shades depending on your display settings. Before making your final choice, we recommend viewing colour samples in our showroom or consulting our team to ensure the chosen shade complements your home.

Log storage

Choose whether you would like log storage or a seating bench beside your fireplace.

Log storage

The optional log stores and seating benches are practical accessories and an integral part of the fireplace’s appearance. Their coordinated design complements the surround while providing a convenient, functional solution for storing firewood or furnishing the area around the fireplace.

Log storage

Open log storage is a practical and decorative way to keep firewood. Having logs close at hand makes using the fireplace more convenient and creates a natural, homely atmosphere.

Seating bench

A seating bench provides a comfortable place to relax and gives the fireplace greater visual presence. It is an excellent choice for larger living rooms or spaces where the fireplace is the room’s focal point.

Important information

The available log stores and benches are matched to the dimensions and design of the specific fireplace model. Sizes and layouts vary by model, so the configurator displays only compatible options.

Log stores are primarily intended for keeping ready-to-use firewood indoors. For longer-term storage, we recommend a dry, well-ventilated location.

Benefits

  • A coordinated, premium appearance around the fireplace.
  • Practical storage for firewood.
  • The option of comfortable seating beside the fireplace.
  • Accessories that match the chosen fireplace’s design and surround.

Floor protection plate

Choose the floor protection plate for your fireplace. It protects the flooring and complements the fireplace’s appearance.

Floor protection plate

The floor protection plate is an important fireplace accessory for both safety and appearance. Its primary purpose is to protect the flooring from embers and ash that may fall from the firebox, and from radiant heat. It also creates a clean outline around the fireplace, makes the area in front of the firebox easier to clean and contributes to a cohesive appearance.

On combustible flooring, such as parquet, laminate or vinyl, a floor protection plate is essential for safety and is required in accordance with the applicable installation requirements. It is also recommended on non-combustible flooring, as it protects the floor surface over time and provides an attractive finish in front of the fireplace.

Delivery / installation*

Choose the collection or delivery option that best meets your needs: collect from our premises, request professional home delivery, or choose our premium service, which includes delivery, professional assembly and full commissioning.

Delivery / installation

Collection and transport information

We take particular care with secure packaging so that your chosen fireplace and accessories arrive at your home in perfect condition.

Packaging units

Our products, including accessories and surround components, are usually prepared on 2–3 standard pallets. Dividing the shipment in this way protects the components and makes them easier to handle during unloading.

Weights and logistics

  • Pallet weights: Depending on their contents, packages may weigh between 200 kg and 550 kg.
  • Transport: For collection, please bring a suitably sized vehicle with sufficient load capacity, such as a truck or an appropriate trailer.
  • Securing the load: Pallets are supplied securely strapped and wrapped in protective film. We recommend additional ratchet straps for safe road transport.

Home delivery information

We want delivery to be smooth and safe, whether we use our own vehicle or a logistics partner.

Delivery procedure and conditions

To ensure that heavy, large pallets (200–550 kg) arrive safely, please prepare for the following:

  • Unloading point: When an external carrier is used, its service generally covers unloading onto a firm, paved surface beside the delivery vehicle.
  • Moving the goods on site: For safety reasons, logistics company staff are not authorised to move pallets up stairs, to upper floors or across inadequately prepared, uneven ground.
  • Preparation: If you wish to move packages farther from the vehicle, for example into a garage or courtyard, please arrange suitable help or equipment, such as a pallet truck, for the delivery day.

Our aim is for your ENGE fireplace components to arrive undamaged. When providing the delivery address, please also consider access for large trucks.
